I go through phases of design and technique.
At the present time, I am loving Paper Piecing and White Washing.
This very sweet Sunflower image from Digital Delights is perfect for paper piecing.
A digital stamp can be resized, flipped, and combined with other images. I made the flower card-sized. I used papers from Colorbok, Tres Chic and MME.
Printing on patterned paper is a bit of a process, and it's fun.
First, print the image on your background paper.
Next, print out the flower several times on computer paper.
Then, attach small pieces of the patterns you wish to use over each place on an the images where you want the pattern to be, using removable adhesive. I use several images so the papers do not over lap. Then, run it through the printer, reprinting the images over the papers.
Peel the patterned papers off, cut them out, and adhere them
to the image you have printed on your background.
But before I attached the pieces, I whitewashed them using Distress Stain in Picket Fence.
I did the same to the background polka dot paper.
I love the softness the Whitewash brings to this card.
To add a bit of texture and interest to the center of the flower, I dotted each little circle with Glossy Accents. I also popped up the center with dimensionals.
The banner is cut using Tim Holtz' tattered banners die, after I printed out the sentiment. It's from Digital Delight's Ice Cream Sentiment Set.
The faux brads are by CTMH.
This technique is fun...give it a try.
